4 Podcasts You Need to Improve Your Digital Marketing

So, you’re already convinced that you need digital marketing. But now what? How do you do it effectively? How do you know that the tips you heard yesterday are still relevant today? And how do you know if those tips were any good, to begin with?

Maybe you’ve been working on your digital marketing for some time and feel burned out. How can you recover the oomph you need to not only keep going but also to improve?

Output vs. Input

A few months ago I started to feel mentally drained. I was being really productive at work. But after a while, it was clear I needed a change of pace for a bit. So I started listening to some podcasts to help me learn more about digital marketing and to gain a fresh perspective on my work.

I found that investing the time to absorb information boosted my creativity and improved my performance. Taking time to focus on input instead of being consumed with output was worth the time it took me away from projects because I was able to approach projects more creatively and intelligently.

Knowledge is Power

Podcasts are easily digestible chunks of content that can fit into anyone’s schedule. I’ve been a fan of podcasts for a long time, so turning to this input source was pretty natural for me.

Here are 4 podcasts that I discovered during my creative slump. These proved to be so helpful and practical that they are now integrated into my week on an ongoing basis.

Hosted by Neil Patel and Eric Siu, this podcast brings 5-7 minutes of digital marketing advice and insights daily. This podcast covers all aspects of digital marketing, from content to SEO, from email to social media. Whether you have a brand new business or a well-established company, the tips in this podcast will prove useful to anyone who is marketing their company online.

2. Building Your StoryBrand

By far my favorite, Donald Miller’s 7-step StoryBrand framework will help you “clarify your message so customers will listen.” Based on Miller’s best-selling book by the same title, this podcast makes storytelling-based marketing strategy accessible to businesses and organizations of any type or size. Miller brings in a guest each week who is excelling because they are implementing principles from the StoryBrand framework.

3. Social Media Marketing with Michael Stelzner

Each week Michael Stelzner interviews a leading social media marketing pro about different aspects of social media marketing. Guests share tips and strategies that help listeners navigate the ever-changing “social media jungle.” Success stories, interviews, and tips and strategies will not only inspire you but also give you practical steps that you’ll be able to start taking today. A companion podcast, Social Media Marketing Talk Show, is also worth a listen.

4. Google Partners

Regardless of the size or age of your organization or business, the Google Partners podcast has tips and insights that anyone can take advantage of. With Google being the internet giant that it is, it only makes sense to get internet advice directly from a source that is undeniably successful. Framed as “what I wish I had known,” this podcast offers very practical advice that has been tested and proven by online professionals in all industries.

Never stop learning

These are just a few of the resources I’ve found helpful as I continue to learn more about the world of digital marketing. Each time I listen to an episode, I’m constantly thinking about how I can apply the principles and tips to my work here at Red Razor Marketing and for our clients.
